The rectangular bevelled plate within an eared sanded frame carved with bead-and-reel and egg-and-dart moulding, below a broken pediment centred by an armorial cartouche cresting headed by a grotesque mask, the sides further carved with oak leaves and acorns, inscribed twice in pencil on the reverse '212.16' and once in ink, and in chalk '682' and 'Barrat'
