On circular foot, the body chased with palm fronds, the lower body and cover chased with foliate strapwork on a matted ground, engraved twice with a crest and with scroll handles and baluster finial, engraved beneath the base with presentation inscription, marked underneath and on cover bezel, with scratch weight 60 [oz.]

The inscription beneath the foot reads 'The Gift of Ye Hon.ble Gen.l Charles Armand Powlett to his Godson Robert Armand Daswood 1748'. The crest is that of Dashwood, for Robert Armand Dashwood (1741-1759).
