On spreading reeded foot, the plain body with moulded rim, later engraved in centre with a coat-of-arms beneath a motto, further engraved on the underside with initials S.R.M., marked underneath

The arms are those of Yorke impaling Cocks as borne by Philip Yorke (1690-1764), later 1st Earl of Hardwicke and his wife Margaret (1695-1761), widow of William Lygon and daughter of Charles Cocks of Worcester.
