A GEORGE IV SILVER-GILT TWO-HANDLED TRAY FROM THE NORTHUMBERLAND SERVICE

MARK OF PHILIP RUNDELL, LONDON, 1823, THE ENGRAVING ATTRIBUTED TO WALTER JACKSON

Shaped-oblong on eight paired lion's paw and pad feet, with shaped boldly gadrooned rim, the handles cast in the form of oak branches with acorn and oak-leaf terminals, engraved in centre with a coat-of-arms within the Garter motto, with duke's coronet above within a border of ribbon-tied husk swags, rosettes and panels of matted ground, marked underneath

31 1/2 in. (80 cm.) long

255 oz. 4 dwt. (7,938 gr.)

The arms are those of Lucy quartering Percy, for Hugh, 3rd Duke of Northumberland K.G. (1795-1847).
