On partly-fluted spreading circular foot chased with a band of acanthus foliage, the stem with fluted knop and acanthus calyx, the partly-fluted trumpet-shaped bowl chased beneath the lip with scrolling foliage, the fluted cover with crest finial, the interior engraved with presentation inscription, marked on body, cover and finial, with wood case; together with a smaller similar gilt metal cup and cover with crowned bird finial, in fitted wood case

The engraved inscription on the silver cup reads 'To Earl & Countess Bathurst from the MORNING POST Staff, on their Silver Wedding, November 15, 1918'.
