A GERMAN SILVER-GILT-MOUNTED LARGE RUBY GLASS TANKARD
THE GLASS GERMAN, MID-18TH CENTURY OR POSSIBLY 19TH CENTURY; THE MOUNTS MARK OF GOTTFRIED GEORG BODE, BRAUNSCHWEIG, AFTER 1747
The glass body cylindrical with faceted lower portion and foot, the lobed cover inset with an Anglo-Hanovarian thaler commemorating the White Swan silver mine at Zellerfeld, the reverse of the coin struck with the Royal arms of King George II, with upright ball thumbpiece partly chased with arabesques, marked on rim of cover near thumbpiece with maker and town marks
