Collection Kaletta, Hamburg.
In this "Fine Art" auction we are once again able to offer first-class works by the artist Friedrich Kallmorgen from the former collection of Rolf Kaletta. Friedrich Kallmorgen is one of the leading German Impressionists of the turn of the century and is especially known and appreciated for his atmospheric city and landscape views, mostly of Hamburg and the surrounding area of Karlsruhe, by collectors as well as in the institutional sector.
Over several decades, Rolf Kaletta amassed a collection of museum-quality paintings, drawings and prints. Even before his sudden death in September 2020, he entrusted Van Ham with some of the artist's works as well as personal anecdotes that arose in the course of his collecting activities and provide insight into the deep bond between the collector and the artist. Rolf Kaletta left behind an impressive collection of more than 60 paintings, numerous hand drawings and a large body of graphic works, which he meticulously assembled and cultivated with great passion.
Now, Van Ham - as an auction house that has been able to specialise more and more in the management of large collections and comprehensive (artistic) estates in recent years - may scientifically process the impressive number of further works of art fresh from the market from the Kaletta Collection and offer them in several "Fine Art" auctions. In addition, numerous works by Kallmorgen are expected to be offered in November in the first part of a curated, monographic ONLINE ONLY auction.
