EDO PERIOD (17TH CENTURY), SIGNED HIZEN KUNI JU OMI DAIJO FUJIWARA TADAHIRO

Configuration [sugata]: honzukuri, iori-mune, shallow toriizori, chu-kissaki

Forging pattern [kitae]: fine ko-nuka-hada with jinie

Tempering pattern [hamon]: chu-suguha, nie with ko-ashi and yo

Tip [boshi]: ko-maru

Tang [nakago]: ubu, file marks (yasurime): kiri, holes (mekugi-ana): one, end (nakagojiri): kengyo

Length from tip to beginning of tang [nagasa]: 70.4cm.; curvature 1.6cm.; width at start of tempered edge 3.3cm.; width before tip 2.3cm

Collar [habaki]: single gilt copper

In shirasaya (plain wood scabbard)

Accompanied by a Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho Token (Especially precious sword) certificate, no. 4185, 29 June 1975, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword)
