EDO PERIOD (17TH CENTURY)

Helmet [kabuto]:

A six-plate iron bowl covered with a lacquer structure formed as a toppei (pointed crown) style jingasa (war hat) with slightly rolled rim, applied with lacquered leather maedate (forecrest) of jyanome-mon (family crest of snake eye)



Neck guard [shikoro]:

A five-tier itajikoro (neck-guard) of black lacquered iron plates, with a small fukigaeshi (turn-back)



Face mask [menpo]:

A russet iron ressei style menpo (face mask), with odayori nokugi (cord hooks) on cheeks, applied with four-tier lacquered iron yodarekake (bib)

Accompanied by a certificate No.12042140 as Kisho tokubetsu hozon (Rare and especially worth of preservation) issued by the Kokusai Nihon Kachu Bugu Shinko Kyokai (International Society for the Promotion of Japanese Armor)
