The rectangular box decorated in polychrome lacuqer takamaki-e, hiramakie, togidashi and okihirame, cover in the shape imitating a 13 stringed koto applied with an iron and soft metal menuki on the forehead (ryugaku); fitted with silver saucer and a silver and iron water dropper in the shape of kabuto (helmet), interior and base on nashiji ground
