A LARGE DATED ICON SHOWING THE WARRIOR SAINT ANDREW STRATELATES FLANKED BY STS. ANNE AND LUBOV WITH A MASSIVE SILVER-GILT OKLAD Russian, mid 19th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Dmitriy Orlov, 1856 (oklad) Oil on wood panel with silk backing. The three saints standing full length against a plain polished ground, their gilt robes finely chased, the borders applied with scrolling floral motifs. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'DO' in Cyrillic. The reverse of the icon has a dedicatory inscription, dated '1857'. Minimally restored. 41 x 36.2 cm.

(Ikone), Russland, Moskau, Dmitrij Orlow, 1856 (Oklad) Laubholz-Tafel. Ölmalerei. Massives Oklad aus vergoldetem Silber mit plastischem Floraldekor. 41 x 36,2 cm. Punziert mit Stadtmarke, Beschaumeisterzeichen, Feingehalt '84' und Meistermarke 'DO' in Kyrillisch. Sehr fein gearbeitetes Oklad mit kräftig getriebenen Gewändern sowie einer kräftig reliefierten Bordüre entlang der Ränder. Verso Reste einer kyrillischen Beschriftung, datiert '1857'. Min. rest.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
