The panel is lavishly embroidered in coloured silks with a large central figure of Shoulao leaning on his staff and holding a peach, his long golden robes worked with a geometric design in couched-gilt metal threads and embroidered with blue shou roundels, a spotted deer to one side. The facial features and patterned robes all finely detailed.
