LATE SHANG-WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 12TH-8TH CENTURY BC

The blade flares outwards at the curved cutting edge opposite the hafting end which has a small hole drilled from both sides. The long, narrow sides are carved with two pairs of notched flanges. The mottled olive-green stone has ivory-colored alteration at the hafting end on one side and is almost completely altered on the opposite side.
