Oval, the stands on four bud feet and chased with a border of stiff leaves, the raised centre engraved with scrolling foliage framing two applied ribbon-tied medallions, the plain tureens with beaded borders and applied with laurel swags held by ram's mask and scroll handles, the domed cover surmounted by a finial of a putto astride a Bacchic lion, with silver liners, engraved on stand, body and cover with a crest and viscount's coronet, marked on stand, tureen, cover, and liner, engraved on the stands, No 1 55=0 and No 2 52=18, on the tureens No 1 114=4 and No 2 113=19, on the covers no 1 and No. 2 and on the liners No 1 24=5 and No 2 25=16

The crest is that of Lowther, for William Lowther, 2nd Viscount Lowther, later 1st Earl of Lonsdale (second creation) (1757-1844), engraved between 1802 and 1807 before James Lowther was made 1st Earl of Lonsdale of the second creation.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
