Two partial leaves from an Antiphonal, in Latin, decorated manuscript on vellum [Spain, 16th century]
Two partial leaves from a Spanish choirbook, one preserving a fragment of the Kyrie in polyphonic mensural notation.
Two partial leaves, c.400 x 370mm and c.350 x 360mm. Text 1 [on the smaller fragment]: music in polyphonic mensural notation and text in dark brown ink on two two-stave systems, page ruled with six five-line staves. Text 2 [on the larger fragment and the verso of Text 1]: up to 5 lines remaining of text and music in square notation on five-line staves, decorated initial ‘P’ in red with blue penwork block-printed frame (both leaves with marginal losses and staining, one word rubbed).
