A RARE AND LARGE ICON SHOWING THE HOLY WOMEN AT THE EMPTY SEPULCHRE Russian, 17th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The haloes made of gold. The three holy women, Mary Mother of God, Mary Magdalene and Mary of Cleopas (?), advancing from the left, holding unguents with myrrh, encountering a sarcophagus containing only the shroud of Christ flanked by a seated angel animatedly pointing to the empty tomb. The background and border stripped to gesso. 43.7 x 38.8 cm.
GROSSE UND SELTENE IKONE MIT DEN DREI FRAUEN AM LEEREN GRAB Russland, 17. Jahrhundert Holztafel mit zwei Rückseiten-Sponki. Kowtscheg, Eitempera auf Kreidegrund, partielle Vergoldung und Versilberung. 43,7 x 38,8 cm. Am rechten Rand sitzt ein Engel vor einer Felsenlandschaft auf einem großen Stein am leeren Grab, in dem nur die weißen Leichentücher liegen. Vom linken Rand treten drei trauernde Frauen an das Grab heran, die mit wohlriechenden Ölen das Grab aufsuchten, um den Leichnam Christi zu salben. Farbe des Randes abgenommen, min. restauriert
