A RARE SMALL CLOISONNE ENAMEL FIGURE OF A KNEELING MONKEY
CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The monkey cast kneeling on one knee, its head raised and arms and hands held aloft in gesture, with a turquoise 'leaf' collar and a pale yellow and black animal skin tied around its hips, the white body patterned with gilded 'curls', the underside of the right foot and the left knee pierced
5 ¼ in. (13.3 cm.) high
