A RED-OVERLAY OPAQUE WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE

YANGZHOU, 1770-1820

The bottle is carved with an underwater scene depicting goldfish swimming amidst lotus plants with some leaves floating in the water and dragonfiles and butterflies hovering above. A four-character inscription carved on the shoulder reads changle zizai (eternal happiness, total freedom).

2 5⁄8 in. (6.7 cm.) high, coral stopper
