Each on square shaped base with gadrooned border, the centre cast and chased with rococo motifs of waves and shells, the baluster stems with panels of scalework, the soulders applied with shells, the campana shaped socket with wave motifs on the lower part, the nozzle similarly decorated to the base, engraved on sockets with a crest beneath a viscount's coronet, marked inside foot-rims and on nozzles, further engraved on underside with numbers and scratchweights: No 3/ 31=15, No 4/ 31=8, No 5 32=3 an d No6 32=5; the nozzles further engraved with No 3/ No 5/ No 6 and No...

The crest is possibly that of Hampden, for Robert Hampden (formerly Trevor), 4th Baron Trevor and 1st Viscount Hampden (1705-1783). He inherited the Great Hampden estate on the death of John Hampden and he took the name and arms of Hampden by Royal Licence in 1754. He served as Postmaster General from 1759 to 1765. He was created a viscount in 1776.
