Each rectangular with gadrooned and shell border, the cover with flower and foliate handle, the stand on four pad feet and with part wood side handles, fitted with detachable dish and liner, the covers and stands engraved with a coat-of-arms, the dishes with a crest, further engraved on underside of the dish rims 'Charles Pascoe Grenfell 1 to 4', marked on sides of dishes and on rims of covers, all stamped with numbers 1 to 4
The dishes 121/4 in. ( 31 cm.) long
weight of silver 293 oz. 12 dwt. (9,131 gr.)
The arms are those of Grenfell impaling St. Ledger, for Pascoe Grenfell (1761-1838) and his second wife Georgiana St Leger (1775–1818), youngest daughter of St Leger St Leger, 1st Viscount Doneraile, whom he married in 1798.
