Of ogee arched form, the hinged covers opening to reveal a central icon depicting St Elizabeth and St Zechariah, flanked by St Alexander and St John the Apostle, within blue enamel borders, the covers cloisonné enamelled overall in varicolour foliate motifs, all within ropework borders, the back engraved with a Russian inscription 'Blessing / of the lower ranks / of the Regimental clerk’s team of the / Chevalier Guards / of Her Majesty the Empress Maria Feodorovna / to Regimental Adjutant / Staff Captain / Baron / Alexander Alexandrovich / Korf / 1911-1914', with a suspension loop, marked throughout, also with import marks; in the original fitted wooden case stamped in Cyrillic 'A.F. Cherepennikov / St Petersburg'
