Rare tapestry to giant leaves curled and serrated, also known as cabbage leaves or

leaves aristoloches decorated in the center with a volatile, and a variety of small birds,

flowering branches, butterflies, caterpillars, surrounded by a wide border, circa 1550-

1600, the netherlands, Enghien or Grammont.

This tapestry is characteristic of this period when the fascination for botany

coming from Asia and America melee of small animals is expressed with abundance and

a great wealth of imagination.

Restorations to the top and bottom left, along the border, probably due to

traces of oxidation in shades of brown, bottom border missing.

H : 244 cm, L : 246 cm.

A tapestry very close to is preserved in the museum of Boston, published in A. S Cavallo.
