A THANGKA DEPICTING MAITREYA IN THE TUSHITA HEAVEN

18TH-19TH CENTURY

Maitreya is depicted in the centre seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base on an elaborate throne, one hand held in abhayamudra and the other with the palm uptured holding a vessel, flanked by two lamas. The deity looks upon a further representation of himself below within a luxurious palace setting, with various disciples portrayed. The robes are all finely detailed in gilt.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
