A VERY RARE AND FINELY CARVED WHITE JADE TABLET PENDANT

MID-WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 10TH-9TH CENTURY BC

The irregularly shaped rectangular pendant is finely carved on either side in low relief with a design of a kneeling humanoid figure with long, incised hair arched back behind the head, surmounting the animal masks. The softly polished stone is of a creamy white tone with light streaks of brown and is pierced with a single hole for suspension.
