1783 malte Ducros eine in der Komposition fast identische, nur in Details wie der Staffage abweichende Landschaftsansicht der Fälle von Tivoli, was eine Zuschreibung an den Maler nahelegt. Ducros zeigt die Wasserfälle von Tivoli ausschnitthaft aus seitlicher Perspektive von unten als erhabenes Naturspektakel. Höchst wirkungsvoll kontrastieren der feine Nebel und die sich in Kaskaden nach unten stürzenden Wassermassen mit den kantigen Gesteinsformationen. Dies beeindruckt auch das dagegen klein wirkende Paar im Vordergrund. Ducros lebte 1777-1793 als Landschaftsmaler in Rom. Mit seinen monumentalen Wasserfällen, römischen Tempeln und Parkanlagen war Tivoli bei Rom beliebtes Ziel für Bildungsreisende und Maler des 18. Jhs.; In Rom dürfte Ducros den dort tätigen Jakob Philipp Hackert beeinflusst haben, von dem eine Reihe vergleichbarer Tivoli-Ansichten aus den 1780er Jahren bekannt sind. Ducros' Landschaften selbst waren begehrt bei vermögenden und hochadeligen Reisenden auf ihrer Grand Tour: u. a. Großfürst Paul Romanow von Russland, König Gustav III. von Schweden und der reiche englische Künstler und Kunstsammler Sir Richard Colt Hoare. Öl/Lwd.; 100,5 cm x 73 cm. Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
