Lot 4027 | Adolf Hitler - "Der Weg zum Wiederaufstieg", 1927
Estimate value
€ 2 500

Adolf Hitler - a pamphlet (tr.) "The Road to Resurgence", 1927
The 22-page pamphlet published in 1927 by Hugo-Bruckmann-Verlag Munich, dimensions 22.8 x 14.1 cm. "The Road to Resurgence" was a secret pamphlet written by Adolf Hitler in summer 1927, which was aimed at industrialists. It was part of the NSDAP's endeavours to obtain financial support from major industry. Thanks to the mediation of Elsa Bruckmann, Hitler and the industrialist Emil Kirdorf met for a discussion on 4 July 1927. The industrialist was so impressed by Hitler's statements that he asked him to summarise his presentation in a pamphlet. Thereupon, Kirdorf distributed this pamphlet on his behalf in "industrial and business circles". As a direct impact of the pamphlet, 14 unidentified captains of industry met with Hitler at Kirdorf's residence. In his preamble, Hitler declared that his ultimate goal was to purify the German race and safeguard German genetic material. He also promoted his Lebensraum programme in the pamphlet.
The exact number of printed copies and the recipients thereof are unknown. One copy was first discovered in the library of the "Gutehoffnungshütte" in Oberhausen in the 1960s by the American historian Henry Ashby Turner and subsequently published in September 1968. To our knowledge, this pamphlet is the second, original copy known to exist and the first in the world to be offered for sale on the free market. An extremely rare find of the utmost historical significance.
