Kalligraphisch in Rot, Blau und Gold gestaltete Pergamenturkunde mit der Verleihung des Ehrenbürgerrechts "Würzburg am Schlagetergedächtnistag, den 28. Mai 1933", darunter die Tintenunterschrift des Oberbürgermeisters Theo Memmel. Maße der Urkunde 36 x 31 cm. Eingefasst von vergoldeter Leiste mit versilberten Sternschrauben, darüber rote Samtbordüre. In versilberter Aluminiumkassette, die getreppten Füße mit je zwei seitlichen Hakenkreuzen. Zweigeteilter Deckel an langen, ornamental gravierten Scharnieren. Im Zentrum des Deckels Modell der Festung Marienberg (Kernburg mit Bergfried und Marienkirche), umlaufend die Stadtsilhouette Würzburgs mit Mainbrücke. Die Festung umringt von einer Stadtmauer mit frostig versilbertem Kranz, darauf die hochragende Umschrift "Die Stadt Würzburg dem Reichskanzler". Unterseitig zwei runde Öffnungsgriffe mit den gravierten Wappen der Stadt Würzburg bzw. dem des Hochstifts Würzburg. Die Festung und die Griffe an Sternschrauben befestigt.
Die Deckelinnenseiten mit gravierten und in Rot ausgelegten Darstellungen der wichtigsten Würzburger Vertreter: "Der Rat der Stadt", "Das werkende Volk", "Der Handelsmann", "Die Universität", "Die junge Generation" und "Der Weinbauer". Die Versilberung partiell leicht berieben/angelaufen, die Urkunde minimal fleckig und leicht gewellt, ansonsten in herausragender Erhaltung. Maße der Kassette 40 x 35 x ca. 11 cm, Gewicht 5,5 kg. In originalem Etui mit rotem Kunstlederbezug (altersbedingt etwas gewellt, partiell fleckig) und beigefarbenem Seidenmoiré-Futter, dieses im Deckel und Boden gepolstert. Das Futter mit tiefen Druckspuren der vier Füße sowie stellenweiser Verfärbung durch die Versilberung der Kassette. Maße des Etuis ca. 43 x 39 x 12 cm.
Provenienz: Nach Angaben des Einlieferers wurde diese Urkunde am Kriegsende von einem Mitglied der 2e Division Blindée in Berchtesgaden erbeutet.

Parchment certificate written in calligraphy in red, blue and gold ink commemorating the bestowal of honorary citizenship, "Würzburg am Schlagetergedächtnistag, den 28. Mai 1933", below which the signature in ink of Mayor Theo Memmel. Dimensions of the document 36 x 31 cm. Edged with a gilt strip with silver-plated star screws and a red velvet border on top. In a silver-plated aluminium casket, the stepped bases each with two swastikas on the side. Two-part lid on long, ornamentally engraved hinges. In the centre of the lid, a model of Marienberg fortress (the inner bailey with keep and Church of St. Mary), surrounded by the skyline of Würzburg with the bridge over the Main. The fortress is encircled by a city wall with a frosted, silvered wreath, bearing the raised inscription "Die Stadt Würzburg dem Reichskanzler". On the underside, two round opening handles with the engraved coat of arms of the city of Würzburg and that of the Bishopric of Würzburg. The fortress and the handles attached with star screws.
The inside of the lid with engraved scenes of the most important representatives of Würzburg, inlaid in red (tr.): "The City Council", "The working people", "The merchant", "The university", "The young generation" and "The winemaker". The silver coating partially slightly abraded/tarnished, the certificate minimally spotted and slightly wavy, otherwise in excellent condition. Dimensions of the casket 40 x 35 x approx. 11 cm, weight 5.5 kg. In the original presentation case covered in faux red leather (due to age, slightly wavy, stained in places) and lined in beige silk moiré, which is padded in the lid and base. The lining with deep indentations from the four feet and discoloration in places due to the silver coating of the casket. Dimensions of the case approx. 43 x 39 x 12 cm.
Provenance: According to the consignor, the certificate was seized by a member of the 2e Division Blindée in Berchtesgaden at the end of the war.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
