Не исключено, что поводом для стилизации послужил пейзаж: дом под четырехскатной крышей в окружении сада, где с крыши свисает перо. В данном случае мотив тенистой ветви или дождевых струй, скатывающихся на ставни окон. Объем дома хорошо читаем в основе композиции. Вокруг него кроны садовых деревьев образуют сферы, где пятнистые с яблоками, где с растительным хаосом кустов и трав, где с дождевой тучей, стволом дерева. Домашний уют создают дорожки у дома и нависающие на окна ветви. В правом нижнем углу инициалы мастера и дата: АБ, 1916. На обороте в левом нижнем углу карандашом: Этр. 1080. Серый полукартон, угольный карандаш. 66 х52,2 см. Кроме экспертиз Всероссийского художественного научно-реставрационного центра имени академика И.Э.Грабаря за 2007 год и Государственного научно-реставрационного института реставрации за тот же год, прилагается собственно ручное письмо Смольникова о приобретении шести графических работ из семьи мастера.
