Alexander von Humboldt war der bedeutendste preußische Forschungsreisende und Gelehrte. Vermutlich ist der Brief adressiert an Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg (1795 - 1876), einen der berühmtesten Wissenschaftler seiner Zeit und Professor an der Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität Berlin. Als Zoologe und Mikrobiologe unternahm er viele Forschungsreisen und dokumentierte zahlreiche neue Arten.
Doppelbogen Briefpapier, eine in schwarzer Tinte eigenhändig beschriebene Seite. Humboldt schreibt an einen Freund ("Mein theurer Freund und College!"), um ihn "mit einer Bitte zu belästigen". Er bittet um "ein Fenster in der obersten Kammer der Universität", um die "Minister von Bülow" aufzunehmen: "Ich habe keine Hoffnung die Bülow's mit dem diplomatischen Corps unterzubringen". Für seine Nichte (Gabriele) wäre dies "eine zu schmerzliche Erinnerung". Er schließt den Brief mit "Freundschaftlichst und dankbarst / Ihr / Al Humboldt / Sonnabend" ab. In der rechten oberen Ecke "22 Mai 1858" datiert. Blattmasse 21 x 14 cm. Gefaltet, brüniert, leicht fleckig, kleine Randeinrisse.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
