Einschiffen vor der Küste in der Normandie
Atmosphärisch gestimmtes, in Motiv und Stil charakteristisches, realistisch gemaltes Werk des russischen Landschafts- und Marinemalers. Bogolyubov diente einige Zeit in der russischen Marine; 1849-1853 besuchte er die Sankt Petersburger Akademie bei Maxim Worobjow, die er mit einer großen Goldmedaille abschloss. Daneben beeinflussten ihn die Werke von Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky. 1854-1860 bereiste Bogolyubov Europa, studierte mehrere Jahre bei Andreas Achenbach und freundete sich in Paris eng mit Camille Corot und Daubigny an. 1871 nahm ihn die Russische Kunstakademie als Mitglied auf und ernannte ihn zum Professor; 1870-1873 gehörte Bogolyubov als Vorstand der Künstlergruppe der Peredwischniki an, bevor er 1873 zeitlebens in Paris ansässig wurde. In einer Reihe von dort entstandenen Gemälden schilderte er die Küsten der Normadie. Öl/Leinwand, auf Holztafel kaschiert. Rechts unten signiert; 58 cm x 85 cm. Rahmen.
