Lot 4383 | An Administrative Admiral Frock Coat
Dark-blue doeskin wool, double-breasted full-length coat, five pairs of silver metal buttons with anchor motif at front, rear skirt with open slash, scalloped sides with three pairs of silver metal buttons. Silver embroidered eagle with white thread highlights, hand-applied to right breast. Sleeve rank of one large silver stripe and one small silver stripe for Konteradmiral (Ministerialdirigent, Generalintendant, etc.) machine-applied to each sleeve, above each is a silver embroidered High Grade career insignia, hand-applied. Silver embroidered epaulette bridles at each shoulder, slip-on style shoulder boards of gilt wire/silver-aluminum woven cords over black backing stitched to shoulder seam and secured with screw post buttons. Five-piece medal bar pinned to left breast. Inside is lined in black rayon with cream sleeve lining, inner waist strap with black ribbon-covered buttons, two inside breast pockets, one with name tag and owner’s name, tailor tag attached. Includes silver-aluminum metallic thread brocade dress belt and buckle. Named to Marinechefintendant Zimmermann and featured on page 328 of “Die Kriegsmarine Uniforms & Traditions” by John R. Angolia and Adolf Schlicht.
