Of ogee arch form, the hinged covers opening to reveal an icon of St Zachary and Elizabeth, within a silver-gilt corded rim set with sapphires, emeralds, cabochon rubies and pearls, the interior and exterior of the hinged covers decorated with ivory plaques, set with a silver clasp shaped as a cross, the reverse similarly decorated with ivory, applied with a silver plaque inscribed in Russian ‘[To] Elizaveta Vladimirovna / Bezobrazova / 23 August 1902 / From the Officers of the Chevalier Guard / Regiment of Her Majesty’, with suspension loop, marked on lower mount and plaque; in the original Fabergé wood case
