Verso: On the reverse side old paper label in Italian language and with an attribution to 'Giovanni wan Hoeck' (Jan van den Hoecke). Part. slightly old restored. Frame. Jan van den Hoecke was at the beginning pupil of his father Kaspar van den Hoecke before he was taught by Peter Paul Rubens and worked in his workshop. In 1637 he went to Italy. Orders from the Emperor Ferdinand III. in Austria followed in the same year. In 1647 the painter returned to Antwerp and became court painter to Archduke Leopold Wilhelm. Wilhelm.
