Pendant with diamonds, mother-of-pearl and translucent mail, Probably France, around 1895-1900 Gold 750/- and silver, tested. About 151 diamonds in a variety of old European cut shapes, approx. 1,50 ct. 1 silver gray shell large teardrop shape, approx 6.5 x 3.2 cm. Turquoise, violet, yellow and colorless TRANS-lucid mail on an engraved base. Several small diamonds missing. TRANS-lucid mail way best. Approximately 8.85 x 3.4 cm. About 37,29 g. Maritime creatures belonged to the traditional animal motifs in East Asian art and were taken from there in the jewelry design of the Art Nouveau. This piece of jewelry is a particularly illustrative example of this adaptation. On the front of a shell of a diamond-studded seaweed is wrapped around, on the back of the fish between the seaweed floating around tendrils. SvP
