Estimate value
€ 12 000 – 25 000
Pendant watch/form watch: museum-quality gold/enamel cross watch set with diamonds, Felipe Hecht Geneve, ca. 1880
Ca. 81mm long, gold/enamel with pearl and diamond setting, oval plaque in the centre with enamel painting, original loop also with pearl setting, hinged back, dome signed, exceptionally fine movement for a form watch, serial number 8304, movement also signed, concealed under the enamel plaque is the miniature enamel dial, winding and time setting via the two crowns on the sides, in very good condition, in working order. We are only aware of 5 of these watches, all with a similar case design but different motifs on the enamel plaque. All the other watches are unsigned, 2 of them were in the Sandberg collection, another example is in the Girard Perregaux museum. Filipe Hecht was the son of the famous Jean-François Bautte. His son Juan Hecht handed the company over to Constant Girard, founder of the Girard Perregaux manufactory, in 1906.
