Silver-gilt terrestrial and celestial globes [Probably German or Dutch, after c. 1675]

A rare, beautifully engraved, miniature silver nesting globe pair. The terrestrial cartography is after c. 1675: California as an island, partial coasts to Australia and New Zealand, partial coastline to North Pacific, four boats to the oceans, unmarked lines of latitude and longitude given every 10°. The celestial with errant equator line, usual constellations with minimal number of stars given. The terrestrial globe of 56mm diameter, unscrewing at the equator to reveal inner celestial globe of 47mm diameter that unscrews to reveal an empty chamber.
