Lot 122 | Arabatschi Jewelry Panel
Turkmenistan, 19th century. Century
The big Knüpfpaneel served as camel jewelry. The striking pattern with rows of star motifs, alternating with "Kedjebe"-motifs, the Arabesque curved and hook-occupied motifs. The circumferential border and the Gül-core, the 8-beam motif. Typical for the Arabatschi the left open nodes, and the shots with the cotton content.

Provenance: Private Ownership, Southern Germany. Comparison: Tzareva, rugs and carpets from Central Asia and Kazakhstan, Leningrad, 1984, Fig. 108/110.; Mackie/Thompson, Turkmen Carpets, Washington, 1980, Fig. 55. - In the centre of foxing, overall very good.
