AN ARCHAIC RITUAL BRONZE WATER VESSEL 'HE' WITH AN ANTHROPOMORPHIC COVER - China, probably late Shang dynasty, ca. 1200-1100 B.C. or later - The vessel cast in two parts with thin azurite and malachite patina, the lid in anthropomorphic form of a face with broad nose, bulging lips, wrinkled forehead and large, wide open eyes, at the temples with two bottle-shaped horns. The body with relief decoration of a serpentine tail wrapping around the wall, on the side of the sloping spout with 'kui' dragon, on the sides with ram's head-shaped eyelets, their openings continuing into the ears of the lid and presumably used to fasten a rope. - From the Zeileis collection, assembled in the 1980s and 90sThis bronze vessel shape is exceedingly rare, only one comparable piece with minor differences in size and decoration details can be seen in the Freer Gallery of Art, Washington (accession no. In zwei Teilen gegossenes Gefäß mit dünner azurit- und malachitfarbener Patina, der Deckel in anthropomorpher Form eines Gesichts mit breiter Nase, wulstigen Lippen, in Falten geworfener Stirn und großen, weit geöffneten Augen, an den Schläfen mit flaschenförmigen Hörnern. Der Korpus mit Reliefdekor eines sich um die Wandung schlingenden, schlangenartigen Schwanzes, seitlich der schräg aufsteigenden Tülle mit 'kui'-Drachen, an den Seiten mit widderkopfförmigen Ösen, deren Öffnungen, die sich in den Ohren des Deckels fortsetzen und vermutlich der Befestigung eines Seiles dienten.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
