Korpus aus fein gearbeitetem gehärteten Leder (sog. "cuir boulli"), oben aufwendiger Dekor aus Medaillons und Girlanden, im unteren Teil stark gebaucht und gekehlt mit geschnürlten Graten. Eiserner Deckel mit balustergegliederter Schütte, umlaufender, ebenfalls eiserner Verstärkungsreif mit leichtem Liniendekor, rs. Gürtelhaken. Höhe 20 cm.
Formschöne, höchst kunstvoll gearbeitete Pulverflasche.
An exceptional Italian boiled-leather powder flask, circa 1580
Body of finely molded, boiled leather (so-called "cuir boulli"), the top elaborately decorated with medallions and garlands, the lower section distinctly bellied and segmented with roped ridges. Iron lid with balustered nozzle, surrounded by an iron reinforcement strap decorated with thin lines, belt hook on the reverse. Height 20 cm.
