Äußerst aufwendig gestaltete viktorianische Weinkanne als Geschenk von Carl Eduard Herzog von Sachsen Coburg und Gotha (1884 - 1954) an ein Mitglied aus der britischen Thompson-Familie
Sterlingsilber. Aufgewölbter, profilierter Rundfuß, übergehend in kurzen Schaft und sich stark bauchig erweiternden Korpus. Schmaler Hals in hochgezogenen Ausguss endend. Passig geschweifter, bombierter Deckel mit durchbrochen gearbeitetem Knauf über Blütenrelief. Volutierter Ohrenhenkel mit Zugmechanismus zum Öffnen des Deckels. Stand und Kannenkorpus flächendeckend üppig verziert mit Blütenfestons, Blütenkelch-, Voluten- und Rocaillendekor, Muschel- und Blattwerk sowie Maskaronen über punziertem Grund. Schauseitig je eine von Akanthusblatt gerahmte Kartusche mit graviertem Wappen des Herzogs von Sachsen Coburg und Gotha mit Devisenband "Treu und Beständig" bzw. das sog. Crest der Familie Thompson mit Devisenband "Dum spiro spero". Modell-Nr. 6193. Innen vergoldet. Gest., Beschaumarken, Herstellerzeichen. Gew. ca. 985 g. H. 32 cm.
Carl Eduard war der Enkel der britischen Königin Victoria (1837 - 1901) und wurde als Duke of Albany und Prinz von Großbritannien und Irland in der englischen Grafschaft Surrey geboren. 1899 verließ er England und zog nach Deutschland, wo er 1900 Herzog des Fürstenhauses Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha wurde und 1905 die Regentschaft über das Herzogtum übernahm.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
