Bust * applies harness of the youthful Bacchus, with the left slightly rotated head. In a small-profile pedestal in a calyx, from which the bust of the God of Wine grows is located. A crown of flowers and stylized wine his head decked with grapes. The eyes originally inlaid silver. Right shoulder and breast are naked, over the left shoulder of a garment coincides with remnants of silver plating. In the back of a strong, hook-shaped struts. The pedestal bottom of a hollow for receiving a stand. A solid bronze casting with a beautiful light green Patina, on the back gray. Height 11.5 cm. The object was allegedly mounted on a tripod, i.e., the struts are likely to have been attached to the bowl. The selection of the type of image refers to the popularity of the cult in the Imperial period the Roman Empire. Provenance: From a southern German private collection. Condition: II -
