Einteilig geschlagene Glocke, der kräftige Mittelgrat mit Lochung zur Befestigung der Helmzier. T-förmige Gesichtsöffnung, umlaufend vernieteter, breiter Brechrand. Umlaufende Futterlochungen, die Futternieten fehlen. Darunter seitlich je zwei Lochungen zur Befestigung des Kinnriemens. Fein nach außen gebördelter unterer Rand, im Nacken zwei vierkantige Hängelochungen. Schwarze, leicht krustige Brandpatina mit brandbedingten kleinen Kupferaufschmelzungen und kleinen Korrosionsausblühungen. Durch Feuereinwirkung deformiert. Höhe 26,5 cm, Gewicht 2.679 g.
Extrem formschön gearbeitete Barbuta in der seltenen und begehrten korinthischen Form. Vergleichbare Helme befinden sich unter anderem in der Wallace Collection in London (Inv.-Nr. A 78) und in der Armeria Reale in Turin (Inv.-Nr. E 9.06278).

A Milanese barbute in Corinthian style, circa 1460
The skull forged in one piece, the pronounced medial ridge with a perforation to insert the crest. T-shaped face opening, with a broad, riveted flange. A row of lining holes around the edge, the rivets have been lost. Below which, two perforations on each side to attach the chinstrap. The delicate lower edge turned outwards, two rectangular suspension holes at the nape. Black, slightly encrusted pyre patina with small, fire-induced signs of copper fusion and small efflorescences of corrosion. Deformed due to exposure to fire. Height 26.5 cm, weight 2,679 g.
An extremely elegant barbute, in the rare, much sought-after Corinthian shape. Comparable helmets can be found in the Wallace Collection in London (inv. no. A 78) and the Armeria Reale in Turin (inv. no. E 9.06278).
