Rechteckiges, hölzernes Kästchen mit kräftig gewölbtem Deckel, ganzflächig mit Schildpatt furniert. Reliefierte Beschläge aus Messing mit Resten von Vergoldung, die Ecken mit Hermenfiguren dekoriert. Seitlich und auf dem Deckel bewegliche Tragegriffe. Schloss funktionsfähig, der Schlüssel ergänzt. Das Innere original mit lachsfarbener Seide ausgekleidet. Maße 14 x 19 x 11 cm.

A French tortoiseshell casket with gilt mounts, 17th century
Rectangular wooden casket with pronounced domed lid, veneered all-over with tortoiseshell. Brass mounts cast in relief and with traces of gold-plating, the corners decorated with Herm figures. Movable handles on the sides and on the lid. Lock operational, key replaced. The interior lined with original salmon-coloured silk. Dimensions 14 x 19 x 11 cm.
