Achtkantiger Lauf mit zwölffach gezogener Seele im Kaliber 16 mm. Schloss mit halb innenliegendem Rad, die Radabdeckung mit dreipassigem Durchbruch. Abzug mit Stecher. Vollschäftung aus Nussbaumholz mit fein gravierten und geschwärzten Einlagen aus Bein. Auf der Wange die Darstellung eines Löwen im Blattkranz. Der Kolbenkastendeckel mit springendem Wolf, darüber am Kolben Hund und Hase. Kolbenkappe aus Horn. Hölzerner Ladestock mit Horndopper. Am Kolben wenige vereinzelte Wurmlöcher. Länge 81,5 cm.

A South German wheellock carbine, circa 1650
Octagonal barrel with rifled bore in cal. 16 mm and 12 grooves. The lock with semi-internal wheel, open-worked wheel cover. Set trigger. Walnut full-stock with finely chiselled and blackened bone inlays. On the cheek piece a lion within a wreath, on the patch-box cover a wolf, on the butt stock above it a dog and a hare. The butt cap made of horn. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. Some worming on the butt stock. Length 81.5 cm.
