Bartholomaeus Anglicus. De proprietatibus rerum. (Heidelberg, Heinrich Knoblochtzer wahrscheinlich für Jacob Köbel) Juni 12 (= 21. Mai 1488). Fol. 325 (statt 326, ohne Titelbl.) nn. Bl. Zweispaltiger Druck, 50 Zeilen, gotische Type. Mit Schmuckinitiale "C" auf dem 1. Textbl. in Blau, Rot u. Gold mit floraler Randbordüre mit Blattranken u. Fliege in Gouache sowie zahlreich eingemalten Lombarden in Rot. Blindgepr., brauner Leder der Zeit, der Vorderdeckel über Karton, der Hinterdeckel über Holz, mit Rollenst. u. Streicheisenlinien a. d. Vdeckel. (Vorne neu aufgebunden, Hdeckel mit Eck- u. Randfehlst., Bezugfehlst. u. zahlreich kl. Wurmlöchern, Schließen fehlen).
GW 3411. BMC III, 670. Hain 2507. Goff B-139. Pellechet 1874. - Frühe Ausgabe dieser berühmten Enzyklopädie des Mittelalters, welche das gesamte Wissen des 13. Jhdts mit Ausnahme der Geschichte zusammenfaßte. Wahrscheinlich das erste Druckerzeugnis der zweiten Presse von Heinrich Knoblochtzer, der um 1485 von Straßburg nach Heidelberg gezogen war. Die vorliegende Ausgabe gehört zu einer Reihe von Drucken, die anonym einem "Drucker von Lindelbach" zugeschrieben wurden. Der BMC unterteilt diese Druckwerke in frühe, für die er die Brüder Johann und Conrad Hist als Drucker konstatiert sowie in spätere für die Knoblochtzer als Drucker benannt wird. Voullieme (Die deutschen Drucker des XV. Jahrhdts) begründet die Zuschreibung aller Lindelbach-Drucke an Knoblochtzer, so daß Knoblochtzer der erste Heidelberger Drucker wäre. - Etw. gebräunt u. stockfleckig Tls. mit Wurmspuren. Anfang u.
