Leicht gekrümmte Rückenklinge mit beidseitig schmaler Kehlung. Aufwendig geschnitztes, teils durchbrochen gearbeitetes Gefäß aus braunem Horn. Die Parierstangenenden und der Griff in plastische Tierköpfe auslaufend, auf dem Griffbügel die Darstellung einer weiblichen Gottheit. Zweiteilig aus Horn gearbeitete Scheide, das silberne Ortblech mit getriebenem Rankendekor. Leicht bestoßen, kleine Fehlstellen am Knauf. Länge 66 cm.
A fine Ceylonese castane with intricately carved horn mounts, 18th/19th century
Slightly curved single-edged blade with slender fuller on both sides. Elaborately carved hilt of brown horn, partially decorated in openwork. The quillons and grip terminating in animal heads, on the knuckle-guard the portrayal of a goddess. Two-piece horn scabbard, the silver chape chased with scrolling leaves. Slightly bumped, small losses at the pommel. Length 66 cm.
