Qualitätvolle Arbeit im Stile Filippo Negrolis (ca. 1510-79), dessen prächtige Paraderüstungen all'antica heute fast ausschließlich in Museumsbesitz zu finden sind.
Auf hochwertigem Ständer aus mit Samt bezogenem Holz. Die Basis in Ormolu montiert, drei vollplastische Füße in Form ruhender Sphingen. An den Kanten alte Lampensockel. Schauseitig eine vergoldete Kartusche mit gravierter Bezeichnung "Negroli 1539". Höhe 51 cm.
Provenienz: Aus der Sammlung Alfred de Rothschild (1842-1918), später im Eigentum von Lionel de Rothschild (1882-1942) und Edmund de Rothschild (1916-2009).
A fine Milanese hammered and gilt parade burgonet, 19th century or earlier
The heavily ridged skull forged in one piece, the peak and neck guard also forged in one piece. The edges finely turned and roped. Raised and gilt acanthus ornaments on the comb, extending down into a mascaron in half relief on the front. The sides of the skull decorated with raised leafy vines. A continuous interlaced band around the edge with silver dot inlays against a gilt background. A border of iron lining rivets with remnants of the leathering on the inside. Inserted inner hood in quilted green velvet. Height of the helmet 29 cm. Weight 2,138 g.
Superb piece in the style of Filippo Negroli (approx. 1510-79), whose magnificent parade armour components all'antica are now almost exclusively found in museum collections.
On a first-class stand of velvet-covered wood. The base mounted in ormolu, three fully sculptured feet in the shape of recumbent sphinxes. Old lamp sockets on the edges. A gilt cartouche on the front with the engraved inscription "Negroli 1539". Height 51 cm.

to Lionel de Rothschild (1882-1942) and Edmund de Rothschild

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
