Bronze mit schöner Alterspatina. Leicht konischer Korpus aus ausgestelltem Standfuß mit verstärkter und ausgestellter Lippe. Umlaufend reicher Reliefdekor sowie vier große Plaketten zwischen Hermenpilastern und Lilienornamenten. Eine Plakette mit Brustportrait Ludwigs XIV., daneben seine Ehefrau Maria Theresa von Spanien, eine Plakette mit dem Portrait des Cosimo III. de Medici, die vierte Plakette mit Darstellung des auf einem Fass sitzenden Bacchus. Auf der Lippe sechs aufgelegte kleine Plaketten mit Darstellung eines Apothekers mit Mörser. Dazu reliefierter Besitzername "I. CAVELIER" und Datierung "1692". Höhe 14,5 cm, Durchmesser 20,5 cm.
Der Mörser wird dem bekannten Rotgießer Nicolas de Paix (1645 - 1722) zugeschrieben.

Bronze with a beautiful age patina. The slightly conical body on a spreading base with a reinforced, flared rim. A border of lavish relief decoration and four large plaques between herm pillars and fleur-de-lys ornaments. One plaque with a half-length portrait of Louis XIV, next to another of his wife Maria Theresa of Spain, one plaque with a portrait of Cosimo III de Medici, the fourth plaque with a depiction of Bacchus sat on a barrel. Six small plaques appliquéd on the rim with depictions of an apothecary using a mortar. Moreover, the owner's name "I. CAVELIER" and date "1692" in relief. Height 14.5 cm, diameter 20.5 cm.
The mortar is attributed to the acclaimed red smith Nicolas de Paix (1645 - 1722).

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
