Museal!
Provenienz: Aus deutscher Privatsammlung.

A rare German miltary "schwammschloss"-carbine with four rotating barrels, circa 1520/30
Rotating set of four round barrels with smooth bores in cal. 10 mm. Each barrel with front sight and a lateral pan with frizzen (one of which went missing). Slim, slightly angled lock plate with external main spring. S-shaped hammer and circular jaws. Full stock of blackened walnut, the edges slightly worn. Iron trigger guard. Original cleaning rod, the tip missing. Overall length 61 cm.
This unusual early firearm of a cavalryman is in absolutely original, untampered-with condition, worthy of any museum collection! Hardly any museum worldwide has any such extremely rare early "Wender" system on display. The Doge's Palace in Venice features a 53 cm long matchlock pistol with three rotating barrels, each with its own pan and frizzen (inventory no. B 83).
