Quadratische Platte aus schwarzem Schiefer mit fein eingelegten Mosaiksteinen aus farbigem Glas. Darstellung der "Tauben von Sosos", nach dem berühmten antiken Motiv in der Villa Hadriana. In kräftig gestuftem und verkröpftem Rahmen aus ebonisiertem Holz. Durchmesser des sichtbaren Bereichs 21,5 cm, Maße Rahmen 43 x 43 cm.
Ein Micromosaik mit identischem Motiv wurde am 23.04.2016 im Bayerischen Rundfunk vorgestellt, und von den dortigen Experten auf 40.000 - 80.000 Euro geschätzt.

An important Italian micro-mosaic after Sosus of Pergamon, 1st half of the 19th century
A square panel of black slate finely inlaid with mosaic tiles of polychrome glass. Depiction of the "Drinking Doves of Sosos" after the famous ancient motif from Hadrian's villa. In a distinctly stepped ebony frame with protruding corners. Diameter of the visible section 21.5 cm. Dimensions 43 x 43 cm.
A micro-mosaic with an identical motif was presented in a TV show aired on the Bayerischer Rundfunk on 23.04.2016 and was estimated by the experts at 40,000-80,000 Euros.
